Gimme back that Filet-o-Fish

So our family is finding the current McDonald's commercial for a Filet-o-fish hysterical, we walk around singing it to each other all the time. I know, it does not take much to amuse us. At the mere mention of a Filet-o-Fish tonight, Brooke broke into song. She was happy to make a repeat performance.

Kids say the darndest things .......

So this morning started out as usual. A little before 6 am Brooke was at the edge of our bed asking if she could join us, she did. I get up a few minutes later and start the morning routine. By 7:30 everyone is up and busy doing something. I was in the process of getting Kristen dressed when Brooke passed by the door on the way to her room. There was something all over her face - Chocolate? Jelly? I couldn't tell, I needed a better look. I call her, she does NOT come. I call again, no Brooke. I do not have time for this to escalate........it escalates and I am yelling "Get in here now so I can see what is all over your face!!!!"

After finally getting her to reappear I discovered it was lipstick of all things. At the end of her time out for not listening I asked how she ended up with lipstick on her face. Read on for the transcript.

"Brooke, how did you end up with Mommy's lipstick all over your face? Where did you find it" Mommy asked.

"I was walking down the stairs a little bit and I found a treasure chest [lipstick case] on the stairs and I, I opened it and there was a lipstick, so I just put it on my lips." Brooke replied matter of factly.

Hmm, she had me there I guess I did leave it on the steps to be put away after our big Valentine's Day date night (pretty sure that's the last time I wore lipstick)

"Mommy shouldn't have left it on the stairs, but you really are too little to be wearing lipstick. You have to be at least 13 before we talk about lipstick, OK?" Mommy explained.

"OK, Mommy. When I'm Firteen I can wear your lipstick." She agreed.

Actually, she didn't do too bad considering she had no mirror and still does not always color within the lines. I'm not sure its the right shade for her, thankfully, we have time to figure that all out!

Cousins

A few weeks ago, the girls FINALLY got to meet Olivia in person. We had been passing colds around our house and were trying not to infect our newest addition. We packed up some presents and lunch and headed off for our visit. Kristen seemed to really be interested in Liv. Brooke, she was more interested in playing with Garrett and his train table!
