Easter Day - 2010

A few weeks have passed since we celebrated Easter and in CT the weather on Easter Sunday was just gorgeous - sunny and warm. After a delicious lunch we donned our walking shoes and loaded up the strollers and headed to Harkness Park. The sun, the sea and family - the makings of a perfect day. We were able to capture some of those perfect moments...................

Remembering Maddie

It was about this time last year that I met my friend, Heather Spohr. Heather and her husband Mike live in LA and truth be told, I haven’t actually ever talked to either of them and they have no idea who I am. I stumbled across Heather’s blog a few days after the sudden and unexpected death of their 17 month old daughter, Maddie. Then Kristen arrived and I was home on maternity leave, I began reading Heather’s blog almost daily and praying for the strength they would need to keep going.

One year ago today their beautiful, bubbly little Madeline was taken away. Today I am sad, sad for a family I never met, for a little girl that I never got to know.

Because of Maddie, I hug my kids a little tighter and kiss my husband a little longer because you just never know.

11 Months

Its hard to believe, but today Kristen was 11 months old. She is getting teeth, making her way around the floor and thinking about pulling herself up on things. At her last checkup she was 19 pounds 12 ounces and 29.75" tall. She is really a content and happy little girl. Her big sister is still completely in love with her "Pretty Little Princess, Kris Kris" We're hoping that never changes!!!

Here comes Peter Cottontail ........

It was a beautiful spring day here in CT and we were happy to be outside enjoying the sunshine and celebrating Easter Weekend. We spent the afternoon at Miss Lisa's house (Little John & Lindsey's house if you ask Brooke) for an Egg Hunt, snacks and goodies. We were even treated to a visit from the Easter Bunny.

Easter Bunny Visit - 2010

Brooke & Kristen did great when we met the Easter Bunny last weekend. Brooke went running right up to him, a big change from the cautious approach she made last year. Kristen was happy when Brooke was with her, but not so happy when she was left to fend for herself ..... so no Baby's First Easter solo picture, but hey, you have to celebrate the small victories you are able to achieve.
